So often we think of email marketing as sending newsletters. But have you ever thought about how often you just communicate with your customers?
I was thinking tonight while I was writing an email to some old friends and telling them about boatcarecompare.com – it dawned on me just how much time I spend communicating with my friends whether I am calling them, texting them, or updating on twitter or facebook.
SO why is that we find it so easy to invest in friendships and relationships yet so hard to make the same investment which will probably result in a monetary return?
That said I think the art of investing in communication is just that – investing in the relationship irrespective of the direct return. You may not be speaking with your next potential customer, but you may well be speaking with your next potential customers friend or work colleague!
So I registered this website quite I while ago. I used to write a marketing blog which gave people innovative ideas and tips and tricks as to how to promote there businesses but the time has come I think to make this site a bit more personal.
The last 5 years have definitely been interesting for everyone. As a relatively new businessman, I made quite a few mistakes with my previous business. It costs me the lot but taught me plenty of lessons.
Since then I have helped grow leading businesses, turned companies around and now back to where we it all started; I am back in the marine industry changing the way people do business.
I think it is all too easy to look at what everyone else is doing and assume it works – the fact is it usually doesn’t. Those with either the most cash or those who cut costs drastically can usually ride out the storm
Business is still tough out there, but the figures in the news today showed a fall in unemployment and the stock market was heading in the right direction. Is now the right time to start a new business?
Maybe… that said only a week or so ago I was walking down the high street in my town and was not surprised to see more stores closing down, I have to say I was a little surprised to see new stores opening. I am pretty confident that if you are in retail and can make it work now, then the next 6 or 7 years are going to be good for you.
